About RONE Throw

RONE Throw is a delay built around a single move. Turn the big knob and whatever is playing is thrown into a tempo-locked ping-pong delay — dotted 8th by default — whose repeats bloom into a reverb wash the further you go. Turn it back and the atmosphere fades on its own timing.

The trick is in the feedback loop: it is band-limited, so it can run almost infinitely without ever turning to mud. Each pass narrows the tail a little, and after a few dozen repeats it has collapsed into a fixed midrange cloud that sits behind the mix instead of piling up in it. The design was measured from real psytrance hook FX and rebuilt pass for pass.

And it only ever adds. The dry signal is never attenuated at any knob position — Throw is the send bus, the ping-pong delay, the EQ, the limiter and the sidechain compressor on the return, folded into one knob you can perform.

KEY FEATURES

What it does

One knob, one gesture

THROW raises the send, the feedback and the reverb together, on curves tuned to feel like a single movement. One automation lane does the whole build.

A loop that cleans itself

The band-limited feedback path lets the tail run for over a minute without mud — it settles into a fixed midrange cloud, whatever went in.

Strictly additive

The original sound is never reduced, ducked or replaced. Throw adds a layer on top; MIX is a send level, not a crossfade.

DUAL cross-rhythms

Give the left and right sides their own divisions — dotted 8th against straight 8th is the classic 3:2 — and the tap trail draws it before you hear it.

Space and duck built in

A reverb on the repeats that opens with the knob, and ducking keyed from the source so the atmosphere blooms in the gaps, not over the words.

Six macro slots

Tap to recall, hold to store. Your six go-to throws live at the top of the window in every session — plus 26 factory presets behind them.

END OF THE BUILD

The riser dissolves into the drop

Draw one ramp on THROW across the last bar of a build. Repeats appear on the dotted-8th grid, thicken, and open into a wash — then let it fall back over the first bar of the drop. Nothing is cut off; the tail carries the energy across the downbeat.

VOCAL THROW

The last word echoes away — the next line stays clear

Leave THROW up for the whole song and let DUCK do the work. While the vocal sings, the atmosphere is almost silent; the moment a phrase ends it blooms into the gap. The classic vocal throw with no automation at all.

3 AGAINST 2

A lead delay that stays in the pocket

Switch DUAL on: dotted 8th on the left, straight 8th on the right. Two independent combs, both fed from the input, so the cross-rhythm never smears — and because the loop is band-limited you can push the feedback far past where a normal delay turns to soup.
